The Question.

When I was at my heaviest I would tire very easily, so much so it led me to pay a visit to my local Doctor. Whereupon I was diagnosed with having the start of type 2 Diabetes. My Doctor said I needed to change my diet and lifestyle. I told him my Routine and how I found it very hard to change, he asked me this Question. “What is more important to you, your health and wellbeing… or your sofa and your Junk food?” There was only one Answer… my health! but where to start? My Doctor gave me a Diet Plan, an exercise guide and a referral to my local weight loss group. I was overwhelmed by it all, it all seemed too much to take in at once. plus being as big as I was made me very self conscious,  so the thought of joining a weight loss group was out of the Question!!!  I sat down and decided to do some research of my own on the food that I was putting into my body, then draw up a Diet Plan and make changes that way.

After doing a little research, I came to realise why junk Food was so Delicious.  The Food Industry spends huge amounts of money on Taste Testing and Focus Groups to gain feed back, so they can make the perfect product to maximise their profits. I use to blame myself for lack of control. but now I realise junk food is made in such a way that it’s very hard to resist. Everything from taste, texture, packaging, price point and advertising have been researched and assessed so that you get  hooked on the “Food” and hand over your money. So I decided to go back to basics and learn what I really needed to eat and how to cook it…
